Isoniazid, rifampicin, pyrazinamide and ethambutol or streptomycin shall be used as first-line treatment of tuberculosis. For multidrug-resistant tuberculosis 3-5 previously unused drugs should be used for which there is in-vitro susceptibility. Regimens should include an aminoglycoside (streptomycin, amikacin, capreomycin or kanamycin), a fluoroquinolone (preferably levofloxacin, alternatively ciprofloxacin or ofloxacin), a thioamide (ethionamide or prothionamide), pyrazinamide, ethambutol, cycloserine or terizidone, para-aminosalicylic acid, and a diarylquinoline (bedaquiline). For multidrug-resistant tuberculosis the treatment should continue for another 18 to 24 months. New drugs such as bedaquiline significantly improved time to sputum culture conversion. Many second-line TB drugs are unavailable in Hungary. Is this really enough, in the current interconnected world? Read more

Hungary in its Substitutions List defines interchangeability for medicines for specific indications and this way it de facto defines medicines considered essential at the national level.

As of April 6, 2017, the total number of 746 medicines (individual strengths, forms and package sizes) were reported to be in temporary shortage.

The industry's fast pace development in all geographical and functional areas of operations requires a systematic approach to intelligence planning, collection, collation, analysis, reporting, dissemination, and evaluation.
Disconnected information sources, disparate and poorly communicated intelligence requirements within the enterprise, and uncoordinated intelligence planning and collection efforts that leave a high level of ambiguity and uncertainty in situations where more transparency and certainty is achievable leave the organization vulnerable and unprepared.
